Empangeni

General Information

Originally the site of a Norwegian Missionary Society Empangeni is today a thriving, friendly Zululand and KwaZulu-Natal town in the beautiful surroundings of the Mpangeni Valley.

The main tourist attraction in Empangeni is the Arts and Cultural History Museum which showcases exhibitions on traditional Zulu culture as well as the early days of the sugar cane industry.  The Enseleni Nature Reserve provides excellent picnic spots and great hiking trails, suitable for the whole family.

Empangeni offers, arts and crafts centres, historical buildings and the Empangeni Golf Course for those who love to golf.  The activities directory provides a comprehensive list of advertisers for the area.
